New Features 

  • Added support up to the latest manufacturers recommended versions of the following devices: 
    • Huawei Firewall – Added support for Huawei USG Firewall (Version V600R024).  
    • Palo Alto PanOS Firewall – Added support for PanOS v12.1.
  • Sophos & Checkpoint CIS Benchmarks 
    • Support has been added to Nipper 3.11.0 for Sophos Benchmark V21 v1.0.0 and Checkpoint Benchmark v1.1.0, allowing customers to generate detailed CIS Benchmark reports for their Sophos & Checkpoint devices.
    • Support has been added to Nipper 3.11.0 for Cisco IOS XE 16.x for Cisco IOS XE 17.x Benchmark v2.1.1, allowing customers to generate detailed CIS benchmark reports for earlier versions of their Cisco IOS XE devices.  

Continual Improvements 

  • Corrected an issue whereby the placeholder ‘MAXOBJECT’ was shown instead of the numeric threshold value in finding ‘Object Groups Exceeded Maximum Threshold’ for Cisco ASA devices. 
  • Resolved an issue for Juniper SRX Firewall devices where ‘Filter Rules Allow Any Protocol’ rules were incorrectly reported when the rule uses custom or Juniper SRX predefined applications. 
  • Resolved an issue for Juniper SRX Firewall devices where ‘destination-address-excluded' function was not being parsed. 
  • Corrected a false positive result for Watchguard devices within the Configuration Report where Alias Addresses were being incorrectly reported under the ‘Network Filtering’ section. 
  • Corrected an issue for Palo Alto PanOS devices whereby remote connections via SSH were failing. 
  • Resolved an issue for Cisco ASA devices whereby during the CIS report generation, Nipper was crashing before the audit could be completed. 
  • Ongoing improvements to the Huawei Switch VRP 19 plugin, improving device coverage. 
  • Huawei and Dell device guides have been added to the in-product help function.
