How to audit device configurations using CLI
Nipper 3 uses a URL-based input format to audit device configurations. Whether you're auditing a single file, a directory, or connecting directly to a network device, the process follows a consistent structure.
Nipper supports two interchangeable options for specifying the source of the device configuration:
-
--device <path or URL>
(uses a space) -
--input=<path or URL>
(uses an equals sign)
Both options are functionally identical and support the same input types:
-
Local configuration files
-
Directories containing multiple configuration files
-
Remote devices
