How to audit device configurations using CLI

Nipper 3 uses a URL-based input format to audit device configurations. Whether you're auditing a single file, a directory, or connecting directly to a network device, the process follows a consistent structure.

Nipper supports two interchangeable options for specifying the source of the device configuration:

  • --device <path or URL> (uses a space)

  • --input=<path or URL> (uses an equals sign)

Both options are functionally identical and support the same input types:

  • Local configuration files

  • Directories containing multiple configuration files

  • Remote devices
