6. New Features – Nipper InfraSight v4.0.0
The following new features appear in this release:
- Improved System Architecture
Updated, modular system architecture improves Nipper InfraSight’s performance as well as providing a stable platform to add new devices, reports and other features. Updates to resources such as STIGs, NVDs, NIST and other compliance guidelines will be available independently of software releases.
- Cisco Meraki SD-WAN device support
This release introduces support for Cisco Meraki, enabling integration with cloud-managed network environments.
Meraki environments are structured across multiple layers, including:
- Organizations – account level configuration such as users and security policies
- Networks – logical groupings of infrastructure such as SSIDs and switches
- System Manager Devices – managed endpoints
These layers are consolidated into a unified Meraki device model within the platform, allowing for streamlined auditing and visibility.
- New Connection Plugin: Added dedicated Meraki device plugin for API-based data collection
- API Integration: Devices are discovered and queried using the Meraki API via API key authentication
- Enhanced Device Model: Combines organizational, network, and endpoint data into a single audit entity
- Replaced traditional username/password authentication with API key-based credentials
- Updated connection dialog to support URL selection dropdowns and revised credential handling
7. Continual Improvements – Nipper InfraSight v4.0.0
- Fixed an issue where Dell PowerConnect incorrectly reported SNMPv3 findings for non v3 users in the Best Practice Security Report.
- Resolved an issue in the Dell PowerConnect plugin where interface priority was incorrectly identified when OSPF was enabled.
- Fixed an issue where NTP authentication was incorrectly shown as “disabled” in the Best Practice Security Report for Dell PowerConnect devices.
- Corrected an issue where Dell PowerConnect did not correctly detect both required NTP servers.
- In some scenarios, Nipper InfraSight may incorrectly report SNMP as disabled on Huawei routers. This behaviour is being corrected so that enabled services are reflected accurately.
- Nipper InfraSight may currently indicate that HTTPS management and forwarding are disabled on certain Huawei routers. Reporting is being updated to align with the actual supported configuration.
- Huawei device detection has been improved by refining how device‑specific commands are identified, ensuring routers and switches are classified correctly.
- Nipper InfraSight may not correctly identify the default console and VTY idle timeout on Huawei routers. This has been updated to report the correct default timeout values.
- In some configurations, Nipper InfraSight may incorrectly report the FTP service as disabled on Huawei routers. Detection logic has been updated to accurately reflect the configured state.
- Nipper InfraSight may not capture the full login banner text configured on Huawei routers. Banner parsing has been improved to ensure all configured lines are included.
- OSPF configuration details on Huawei devices were not fully parsed. Parsing has been enhanced to correctly report process details, areas, authentication, and network statements.
- Addressed an issue in Nipper 3.12.0 where certain FortiGate configuration details, specifically destination addresses and services within policy rules, were not accurately reflected in security reports.
- Resolved an issue where exporting “Security Issues to CSV” for certain devices could result in misaligned text.
- Added support up to the latest manufacturers recommended versions of the following devices:
- Aruba Gateway (Router) - version AOS 10.8.0.1
- Cisco ASA (Firewall) - version ASA 9.22.2
- Cisco IOS XE (Switch and Router) - version IOS XE 17.15.4c

- F5 Big IP (Firewall/Switch/Load Balancer) - version Big-IP 21.0.1
- Huawei Routers – version V600R025
- SonicWall NSV 270 (Firewall) - version 7.3.2
- Sophos Firewall - version SFOS 21.5.1 MR1
