How to save your reports to PDF
Nipper InfraSight can save your reports in PDF format, ready to share or archive outside of the application.
Saving Your Report as a PDF
- With your report open, go to File -> Save As -> PDF.
- Choose where you would like to save the file, then click Save.
- Your report will be converted and saved as a PDF document.
Splitting Large Reports into Multiple PDF Files
Large reports can take a long time to save as a single PDF file. To improve saving speed, Nipper InfraSight can split a large report's content into several smaller PDF files instead of one large one.
This behaviour is controlled by the Split PDF output setting, found at Settings -> Save -> PDF -> Basics -> Report -> Split PDF output. There are three options available:
- Auto (Default) - Nipper InfraSight automatically splits the report into multiple PDF files only when the report's size exceeds a configured threshold. Smaller reports are still saved as a single file.
- On - Always split the report into multiple PDF files, regardless of size.
- Off - Always save the report as a single PDF file.
What Changes When Splitting is Used
When your report is split into multiple files:
- Instead of being asked for a file name, you will be asked to choose a destination folder to save the PDF files into.
- A separate PDF file is created for each section of the report, named after that section.
- All the files together make up the complete content of your report, in the same way a single PDF file would.
Note: When saving as a single file (Off, or Auto with a report under the size threshold), you will be asked for a file name as normal.
